I am a Transactional Analyst psychotherapist, supervisor, and trainer with a commitment to supporting myself and others in lifelong learning and development. As well as working as a psychotherapist and supervisor, I offer ongoing study groups, professional development groups and workshops. My hope is to design thoughtful, engaging, spaces for therapists at all stages of experience and from a range of clinical modalities. Whether you're looking to deepen your clinical insight, find connection with peers, or explore new perspectives, you are very welcome.
About Me
I am a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA-P UKCP regd) and I have been in private practice since 1995. I live in Scotland, but I work primarily online as a psychotherapist, supervisor, and group facilitator and offer occasional workshops in-person across the UK and internationally. I have a longstanding interest in depth and relational psychotherapy, body psychotherapy, working within a social justice lens, and integrating concepts from critical theory and postmodernism into the clinical setting. I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive and non-judgmental space. I have particular experience working with individuals from LGBTQI+ and GSRD communities, and people who are marginalised through class and economic deprivation. I understand at a personal level that social context, identity, and systemic inequalities can profoundly shape psychological experience. I love facilitating professional development and learning groups, and I endeavour to facilitate with warmth, respect, and shared power and responsibility.
Reading groups
I have been a coeditor of the Transactional Analysis Journal since 2017 and I facilitate ongoing reading groups which explore and discuss published articles. These groups provide an opportunity to think together in a supportive environment and to develop skills in analysing ideas, and debating theory and practice issues. I run several groups for different levels of experience. They run for an academic year, with a contract for attendance for the year. Contact me if you would like to go on the waiting list for the coming year.
My Services
Supervision
I offer ongoing monthly supervision on a 1:1 basis or in a supervision group. I also offer one-off specialist consultations.
NB: I do not currently have any supervision spaces.
Specialist Consultation
I offer specialist consultation and supervision for practitioners interested in working relationally and in depth with contemporary social justice issues. A key aspect of this is supporting work with clients who identify as queer, LGBTQI+, or GSRD. This is an area I care deeply about and have also written on—you're welcome to explore some of my publications if you'd like to know more.
CPD and Workshops
I offer CPD groups and workshops on a variety of themes, with a particular focus on relational and depth-oriented approaches to psychotherapy. My work is also informed by postmodern philosophy and critical psychology, weaving these perspectives into clinical thinking and practice known as Critical Psychotherapy. I'm especially interested in how we can develop our clinical work in ways that are grounded in social justice—bringing awareness to the wider contexts that shape both our clients' lives and our own as therapists, whilst still focusing on the internal world of the client.
Ethics and Values
My work is grounded in a relational, depth-oriented approach to psychotherapy, with a strong commitment to ethical practice, reflective engagement, and social justice. I strive to create spaces that are respectful, inclusive, and attuned to the complex social, cultural, and political contexts that shape our lives.
I value critical thinking and welcome diverse perspectives, drawing on postmodern philosophy and critical psychology to question dominant narratives and support meaningful, transformative, therapeutic work.
